Dig into a scrumptious All American Breakfast at the
A quirky restaurant that has been serving up super size portions for over sixty years now. This famous hole in the wall first opened in the mid 1980s and has turned breakfast food into an art. Their motto is "you eat here because we let you" and boy do they let you! There is no better way than to start off your morning right and enjoy their take on grandma's homestyle cooking while the sensational aromas of roasting coffee, baked goods, and dripping grease flutter up your nose. The Stepping Stone Cafe makes the waistline explode with happiness.
Not only is the food superb at the stepping stone cafe but the inside of the restaurant is similar to a vintage diner with chic thrift store decorations topped with a modern pop culture vibe.In other words an interior designers worst nightmare. I'd say this place is the inventor of the "ugly sweaters" guilty pleasure.
" The counter, stools and booths all feel like a 1940s diner, but the walls have paintings of Charlie Sheen and other modern pop-culture touchstones, and there's a display of monogrammed thong undies. Adding to the whimsy are Christmas ornaments that dangle from the ceiling from fishing wire, and bobble up and down anytime someone opens the front door. "(2)
An atmosphere with new age hippies and hungry hippos is exactly what to expect when you wait in line at this marvelous cafe. However this hidden treasure has seen its "five minutes of fame", when one of today's most popular television shows on the travel channel came to debut it's beauty for the world to see.
In this picture Adam Richmand, the host of his show Man VS Food is idolizing the famous "Mancakes" plate sized pancakes at my all time favorite breakfast place also known as Stepping Stone Cafe.
Can I afford this?
I know you are all experiencing shock from the aftermath of those enormous size pancakes that are featured above but your probably curious to know if the prices are as extreme as the portion sizes? NO! That's another fabulous reason why I absolutely love this place. Check out the Menu that I have provided below.
The prices for each meal are worth every penny.
If you woke up feeling blue all of these foods were created to beat the blues:
The Man-cakes
Stack(3) $4.25
Short Stack(2)$3.50
Single $2.75
Eggs Benedict
$9.00
Breakfast Enchiladas
Mouthwatering breakfast burrito drizzled with enchilada sauce on top
$8.50
I evaluated this restaurant based on price, atmosphere, customer service, and finally menu options. I wanted to judge based upon the appeal factor for the audience, by this I mean simply would everyone enjoy this place? Could any age or attire be acceptable and was it affordable. My check list was as positive as the reviews on yelp! No one ever leaves unsatisfied or hungry, as a customer you always leave in an excruciating food coma. Although the calories are well worth the pain and as a beloved customer to the Stepping Stone Cafe I can promise you that you will never have a bad experience!
